An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Retail Floor Manager to join a well-established, independent, family-run business, providing specialist clothing to local organisations across Milton Keynes.
This hands-on role is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the shop floor, leading a team to deliver excellent customer service and maintain high standards across stock presentation, replenishment, and the overall retail environment.
The position offers long-term stability within a business known for its strong reputation and supportive senior management team.

What we need from you:
Minimum of
2 years' experience
of managing a team of retail assistants within any retail sector
Possess first class customer service skills to the full broad spectrum of the public
Have strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent spoken and written English
Knowledge of visual merchandising principles and retail operations
Ability to successfully deal with resistance to change, communication gaps, and process inefficiencies
Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced retail environment
Proficient in operating an EPOS system to facilitate transactions and manage sales efficiently, contributing to smooth store operations
Able to stand, bend, stoop, extended reaching, and climb ladders or step stools while placing merchandise throughout the store and assisting customers
Able to work a flexible schedule based on the company needs during the high season
What the role involves:
Lead, supervise and motivate the shop floor team, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and high standards of customer service
Manage day-to-day shop floor operations, including staff cover, breaks, checkout desks, and click & collect during busy periods
Create a positive, inclusive working environment that supports team performance, wellbeing, and collaboration
Support recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing development of team members
Monitor performance, address underperformance, and escalate issues to senior management when required
Drive efficient sales processes and ensure customers receive a welcoming, high-quality shopping experience
Handle customer enquiries and resolve escalated complaints professionally
Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, stock presentation, cleanliness, and overall shop floor appearance
Monitor stock levels, complete accurate stock checks, and ensure continual stock replenishment to maximise sales
Conduct regular shop floor reviews to ensure compliance with operational procedures and standards, working closely with senior management
Attend display events as required
Salary:
£30,000 - £31,000 per year.
Hours:
Core hours are 9am to 5pm, working 5 days out of 6 (Monday to Saturday). You will need to be flexible to work some extra hours during peak seasons.
