Job Opportunity: Residential Conveyancing Solicitor/Conveyancing legal Executive

Brighton - East Sussex ( Hybrid working )

Overview:
We are working with an award-winning Legal 100 firm in the Brighton Office to recruit a Residential Conveyancing Solicitor to join its dynamic and growing team.

The Role
The firm is seeking a proactive and client-focused Residential Property Solicitor to assist a Partner with a busy caseload of residential conveyancing work, primarily within the thriving retirement living sector. You’ll play a key role in handling both purchase and disposal transactions—often managing both sides for clients downsizing into retirement properties. The role demands excellent organisational and communication skills, as matters are often time-sensitive and fast paced.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of non-contentious residential property matters under supervision
• Advise on the purchase and sale of residential properties, particularly in the retirement living market
• Support senior lawyers on more complex files as needed
• Contribute to group meetings, technical training, and the ongoing development of best practice
• Ensure compliance with risk management and AML regulations
• Maintain accurate records using the firm’s case management and financial systems
• Meet billing, time recording and financial targets
• Represent the firm in business development activities including seminars, newsletters and networking events

Requirements

\n
• Proven experience in residential conveyancing
• Understanding of relevant property legislation and landlord & tenant issues
• Confidence managing client expectations and communicating technical legal information clearly
• IT proficient with strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and time recording systems
• Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
• Experience with retirement property transactions would be highly advantageous
