Residential Childrens Deputy Manager

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day running of a small childrens residential home. This is a hands-on role where you will lead by example, working closely with the Registered Manager to provide high-quality care and ensure positive outcomes for young people.
You will play a key role in creating a stable, supportive environment where children feel safe, valued, and able to thrive. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will remain actively involved in direct care, building strong relationships with the young people you support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the overall operation of the home
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of support workers
- Ensure high standards of care in line with regulatory requirements
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and placement plans
- Promote positive behaviour and support emotional wellbeing
- Assist with staff rotas, supervisions, and team development
- Step up to manage the home in the absence of the Registered Manager

Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or working towards)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role within childrens residential care
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- A proactive and child-centred approach
