Berry Recruitment are now recruiting for a Repair and Maintenance Technician to join our client's growing team.\n\nRole: Repair and Maintenance Technician\n\nDepartment: Facilities\n\nReports to: Senior Engineer\n\nLocation: Multiple Oxford sites (travel required)\n\nDays: Monday - Friday\n\nHours: Full Time (plus call outs)\n\nSalary: £32,000 - £37,000\n\nAbout our Client\n\nOur client is dedicated to transforming groundbreaking science into solutions that address humanity's most urgent challenges. From health and medical science to sustainable agriculture, clean energy, and AI-driven government innovation, they operate across four high-impact global endeavours.\n\nKey Responsibilities of the Repair and Maintenance Technician\n\nGeneral Maintenance & Repairs\n\nCarry out a wide range of general handyman tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and minor construction.\nWork safely within regulated laboratory and clinical environments. \n\nQuality, Safety & Compliance\n\nEnsure all work meets high-quality finish standards.\nFollow all health & safety regulations, building codes, and internal policies.\nConduct and support implementation and routine review of SOPs and facility risk assessments.
\n\nTroubleshooting & Problem Solving\n\nDiagnose and resolve minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues.\nEscalate issues as required and work proactively to prevent future problems. \n\nCollaboration & Customer Service\n\nWork closely with internal teams and external contractors.\nProvide excellent service by responding promptly to maintenance requests.\nMaintain accurate records of all maintenance activities. \n\nOperational Support\n\nManage and track tools, materials, and supplies.\nParticipate in out-of-hours work when required for scheduled non-urgent tasks.\nJoin the on-call rota if required to support urgent callouts.\nSupport contractor management across all sites.\nAbout You\n\nEssential Skills & Experience\nProven experience in facilities maintenance or a handyperson role.\nBroad skills across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.\nAbility to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.\nStrong understanding of compliance and safety practices.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work independently across multiple locations.\nValid driver's licence and reliable transport.\nProactive, solutions-focused approach.\nTravel required across Oxford sites.\nFlexibility with hours, including occasional out-of-hours response.\nPhysical requirements include lifting, bending, standing, and manual tasks.
