The Team

You will join a nationally recognised Health Litigation team acting on behalf of NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts and other major healthcare providers.


The team is widely respected across the market and is particularly known for its expertise in:

  • Obstetric and neonatal claims
  • Complex, high-value brain injury litigation
  • Maternity and patient safety matters
  • Strategic advisory work within the public health sector

This is an opportunity to work on high-profile, technically challenging cases alongside some of the most experienced practitioners in the field, while enjoying the autonomy of a remote role.


The Role

You will manage your own caseload of defendant clinical negligence matters from inception through to resolution, with the flexibility to work entirely remotely.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysing evidence and conducting investigations
  • Drafting detailed advice and reports
  • Interviewing witnesses and preparing statements
  • Instructing experts and Counsel
  • Attending CMCs, hearings and conferences (remotely, with occasional attendance where required)
  • Negotiating settlements
  • Preparing cases for trial and ADR


You will also:

  • Mentor and support junior colleagues
  • Assist on complex and high-value claims
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Deliver client training and presentations
  • Contribute to thought leadership and publications
  • Support business development initiatives
  • Play a role in continuous improvement within the Health practice
  • Have opportunities for client secondments


About You

This role will suit a solicitor who thrives in a flexible, remote-first environment and is confident managing defendant clinical negligence work independently.


You will ideally demonstrate:

  • Experience handling clinical negligence claims (NHS Resolution or MDO exposure desirable)
  • Familiarity with the Early Notification Scheme and maternity claims, or a strong interest in specialising in this area
  • The ability to work autonomously while remaining highly collaborative
  • Strong understanding of client KPIs and reporting requirements
  • A proactive, pragmatic and quality-driven approach
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior lawyers
  • A consistent record of meeting billing and performance targets
  • High standards of confidentiality and data security awareness
