Job Title: Registered Manager
Location: Specialist Supported Living Service, Exeter
Salary: £30,000 – £42,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead a specialist supported living service providing bespoke, independence focused accommodation for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and epilepsy.

This is a highly rewarding leadership role within a thoughtfully designed environment that promotes choice, dignity, and independence. The service consists of self-contained living spaces, each offering private bedrooms, en-suite facilities, and kitchenette areas, supporting individuals to live as independently as possible within a safe and structured setting. Communal areas and access to outdoor space, including private and shared garden areas, further enhance quality of life and wellbeing.

The setting has been carefully developed to provide a warm, homely atmosphere while ensuring that residents receive the right level of support within a therapeutic and enabling environment. Individuals supported at the service are subject to DoLS authorisations, and despite complex needs, are encouraged and supported to lead active, meaningful, and fulfilling lives.

The Role
The Registered Manager will take overall responsibility for the operational and clinical leadership of the service, ensuring high standards of care, compliance, and person-centred practice are consistently delivered.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the service to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality support delivery
Creating and sustaining a positive culture that promotes independence, choice, and participation
Managing and developing a skilled and compassionate staff team
Ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and safeguarding standards
Overseeing care planning, risk assessments, and DoLS processes
Driving continuous improvement and maintaining high-quality outcomes for residents
Managing staffing, recruitment, rotas, and performance effectively
Building strong relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies

About the Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced care professional with a strong background in supported living or similar settings, ideally with experience supporting individuals with autism, epilepsy, and learning disabilities.

They will demonstrate:

Previous experience as a Registered Manager or in a senior leadership role
A strong understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, and DoLS
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent qualification)
The ability to lead, inspire, and develop a committed staff team
A person-centred approach with a passion for promoting independence and quality of life
Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
A calm, resilient, and solution-focused leadership style
