Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home Location: Walsall, West Midlands Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum
We are working on behalf of a well-established children’s care organisation to recruit an experienced Registered Manager for a 2-bed residential home supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties).
This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior residential care professional to lead a small, close-knit team, deliver high-quality care, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
The Role Reporting directly to the organisation’s leadership team, the Registered Manager will take overall responsibility for the safe, effective, and compliant operation of the home. You will lead a team of care staff, ensuring each child receives person-centred support that meets their individual needs and promotes positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate, and develop a small team of care staff to ensure high standards of care
*
Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, internal policies, and best practice
*
Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
*
Create a nurturing, structured, and safe environment for children with learning disabilities and EBD
*
Maintain strong communication with families, social workers, and external professionals
*
Manage staffing, budgets, and operational aspects of the home
*
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safeguarding, and professional development
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Registered Manager in children’s residential care
*
Experience supporting children with learning disabilities and EBD
*
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and Ofsted requirements
*
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent)
*
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
*
Passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people
