Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home (3 Bed)
Location: Doncaster Contract: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 39 hours per week Salary: Up to £62,200 including performance and occupancy bonuses
About the Role
An established provider of residential childcare services is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a newly developed 3-bed children’s home in Doncaster.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping a new service that supports young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall leadership, management and regulatory compliance of the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care that enables young people to develop resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
The Registered Manager will lead and support a team of care professionals while promoting a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for young people.
Key Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of the children’s home
*
Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted SCCIF
*
Lead, develop and supervise the staff team to deliver high-quality care
*
Promote positive outcomes for young people across their emotional, physical and social development
*
Manage care planning, safeguarding and risk management processes
*
Oversee admissions and transitions for young people entering and leaving the home
*
Maintain accurate records, reporting systems and management information
*
Work collaboratively with external professionals, families and local authorities
*
Chair internal and external meetings as required
*
Participate in on-call duties and support operational needs where necessary
Leadership & Team Management
*
Lead recruitment, induction and supervision of staff
*
Ensure all staff receive appropriate training and professional development
*
Manage rota planning and staffing resources effectively
*
Address performance, disciplinary matters and grievances in line with policy & promote a positive and supportive team culture
Service & Operational Management
*
Monitor budgets and financial performance of the service
*
Ensure the home environment and resources meet regulatory requirements
*
Support service development and continuous improvement initiatives, contribute to organisational leadership forums and strategic discussions
Requirements
*
Experience managing or deputising within a children’s residential setting
*
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
*
Knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks and children’s homes regulations
*
Proven experience leading and developing staff teams
*
Excellent communication, leadership and report writing skills
*
Ability to work effectively with young people presenting challenging behaviours
*
Full UK driving licence and access to transport
Qualifications
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
