An opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to join an established organisation in a key business partnering role. This position will support operational and strategic decision-making by providing high-quality financial insight, planning, and reporting.
The role is suited to someone who is commercially aware, analytically strong, and confident working closely with senior stakeholders to improve performance, support planning, and contribute to wider organisational objectives.

The role

Working as part of a wider finance function, the successful candidate will provide financial support across a broad operational area. The role will focus on budgeting, forecasting, reporting, performance analysis, and advising stakeholders on financial matters to support effective decision-making.

Key responsibilities

Support the preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
Analyse financial information and provide clear insight to support decision-making
Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and recommend actions where needed
Provide financial guidance on projects, planning activity, and operational initiatives
Contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting
Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted financial advisor
Translate financial information into clear and practical recommendations
Support the review and improvement of financial processes
Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Essential experience and skills

Proven experience in a finance business partnering, financial planning, or management accounting role
Previous finance experience within the education sector is essential
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and variance reporting
Ability to interpret complex financial data and present it in a clear and meaningful way
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at different levels
Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Relevant professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, or equivalent experience

Desirable experience

Experience supporting multiple service areas, departments, or operational teams
Knowledge of financial compliance and reporting requirements within an education setting
Strong systems skills, including financial reporting tools
Experience supporting process improvement or organisational change
