Overview
Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for a Regional Field Operations Manager on behalf of a provider of sustainable heating solutions.
Operating for over 35 years, they have hundreds of staff working for them across multiple offices in the UK. Their services include the design, installation, maintenance and management of plant rooms and heat networks on behalf of local authorities, universities, factories, housing associations, private landlords and utility energy suppliers.
As the Regional Manager, you will manage a team of up to 10 engineers mostly based in London. You will be required to support contracts across London (North of the river) and up to the Midlands and Wales. In this senior leadership role, you’ll be at the heart of their mission to deliver exceptional engineering performance, outstanding customer service, and unwavering compliance with health and safety standards across their communal heating systems.
You’ll lead a talented, geographically dispersed team, ensuring they have the tools, training, and support to excel. If you’re passionate about operational excellence and driving continuous improvement, this role is for you. You will oversee reactive and planned maintenance for communal heating systems, including HIUs, metering, AMR technologies, and prepayment infrastructure.
This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The salary is paying £52k per annum. The successful candidate would require access to their own vehicle and mileage would be paid at 45p per mile. The role offers hybrid working (Home/Site/Office). You will also receive 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, company pension, private healthcare, death in service benefit 4x annual salary, training schemes and development opportunities etc.
Responsibilities
* Lead with purpose: Inspire and manage a nationwide team of field engineers, fostering collaboration and high performance.
* Keep systems running smoothly: Oversee reactive and planned maintenance for communal heating systems, including HIUs, metering, AMR technologies, and prepayment infrastructure.
* Empower your team: Ensure resources, training, and equipment are in place to meet and exceed service levels.
* Be the go-to expert: Provide technical guidance to internal teams and external clients, solving complex challenges with confidence.
* Raise the bar: Conduct audits to uphold quality standards and drive operational efficiency.
* Plan for success: Lead operational planning, streamline processes, and implement innovative solutions.
* Stay compliant: Monitor adherence to company policies, contractual obligations, and health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate widely: Work closely with regional teams, contractors, and scheduling functions to deliver seamless service.
* Measure and improve: Report monthly on KPIs, performance trends, and service initiatives.
* Drive growth: Contribute to contract delivery and revenue expansion while managing budgets effectively.
* Champion safety: Oversee risk assessments, method statements, and stock control, ensuring a safe and efficient operation.
Skills & Attributes
* Proven leadership experience managing remote engineering teams.
* Deep technical knowledge of communal heating systems.
* Familiarity with AMR technologies (Mbus, Radio, DLC) and prepayment systems.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
* Ability to thrive in multi-site, multi-client environments.
* A natural motivator and coach who brings out the best in people.
* Resilient, adaptable, and proactive in fast-paced settings.
* Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills.
* IOSH Health & Safety qualification (or willingness to achieve this upon appointment).
