The dual job purpose of this exciting role is to be the first point of contact for patients upon arrival at a dedicated base, welcoming them and ensuring their confidentiality is always maintained, whilst also providing transport to GPs on visits around the locality to visit patients. The receptionist element of the role would include comfort calls to patients, appointment booking or incoming calls about a possible bereavement.This part of the role requires empathy and competent IT skills to navigate your way around a computer screen, whilst talking to a patient on the phone who is potentially in distress.
