Job Description
We are looking for a commercially driven and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our clients growing Commercial team.They are a leading Birmingham based civils, groundworks and demolition comany working for Tier 1 contractors. \n\nThis is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality projects while contributing to the continued success and expansion of the business.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will take ownership of projects from tender through to final account, ensuring strong financial performance, effective contract administration, and successful project delivery. Working closely with internal teams and clients, you will be instrumental in maintaining relationships, managing risk, and driving value across all stages of the project lifecycle.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams\nWork collaboratively with Contracts Managers, Site Teams, and Estimators\nLead contract administration, ensuring compliance with contract conditions and relevant legislation\nManage the full commercial lifecycle of projects from tender to final account\nPrepare and submit accurate valuations and ensure timely receipt of payments\nProduce and maintain cash flow forecasts and financial reports\nIdentify, manage, and agree variations and compensation events\nEnsure robust cost control, forecasting, and budget management to achieve target margins\nMonitor and mitigate commercial and project risks\nUndertake regular site visits to review progress and performance\nReview project programmes and develop strategies to avoid delays and maximise opportunities\nAppoint, manage, and support subcontractors, including contract preparation and payment authorisation\nSupport tender submissions and contribute to pricing strategies\nBuild strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors\nMentor and support junior team members\n\nAbout You\n\nProven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role with NEC experience.\nCivils, groundworks or construction experience\nStrong understanding of contract administration and commercial processes\nExcellent negotiation and communication skills\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively\nProactive, detail-oriented, and commercially focused\nExperience working within construction or a related industry\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits package\nOpportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects\nSupportive and collaborative team environment\nClear opportunities for career progression and development\nThe chance to play a key role in a growing (email address removed) Recruitment
