Our client is a long-established, family-owned main contractor with over 150 years of heritage, delivering high-quality, sustainable construction projects across a diverse range of sectors. Their portfolio includes high-end residential, education, science and healthcare, hospitality and leisure, commercial and retail, as well as conservation and refurbishment schemes. With a strong reputation for collaboration, attention to detail, and technical excellence, our client continues to deliver complex and bespoke projects, supported by specialist divisions including a dedicated joinery arm and a team focused on unique and smaller-scale works. The Role Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. You will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of projects from inception through to completion, ensuring commercial success while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Manage project costs from pre-construction through to final account Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers Preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow Valuations, variations, and cost reporting Administer subcontractor accounts and payments Work closely with project teams to ensure cost control and efficiency Support the delivery of high-quality, sustainable construction projects Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment Experience across sectors such as residential, education, healthcare, or refurbishment is desirable Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. JCT) Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related field Why Join Our Client?
