Take the lead on Barrow's rail projects – QS with civils experience needed!Quantity Surveyor – Rail / CivilsBarrow-in-Furness (Office-Based)12-Month Contract (Likely Extension)We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client, supporting the commercial delivery of rail infrastructure projects.This is a fantastic opportunity to work across construction and civil engineering projects, taking full responsibility for commercial management from tender stage through to final account.Key Responsibilities Manage projects commercially from tender through to final accountPrepare and price tender estimates (small and large projects)Maintain and manage costing systems and reportingLiaise and negotiate with clients on variations and contractual mattersConduct site visits to measure works and assess new tendersReview project documentation, identifying risks and requirementsPrepare monthly payment applications and resolve discrepanciesWork closely with internal teams and client-side QS professionals Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, civils, or infrastructureExperience working on rail projects (e.g. Network Rail environments)Strong background in estimating, tendering, and programme managementSolid knowledge of NEC and JCT contractsAbility to manage multiple stakeholders and commercial priorities Company InformationAt First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
