About the Company
Our client is a well-established groundworks and construction contractor based in Lincolnshire, delivering high-quality infrastructure and groundwork packages across residential and commercial developments. With a strong regional presence and a reputation for reliability, quality, and safety, they continue to secure repeat business with key clients.
Due to ongoing growth and a healthy pipeline of projects, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with strong groundworks experience to join a stable and growing contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and financial aspects of multiple groundwork and construction projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and efficient delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage budgets, cost plans, and commercial reporting across multiple projects * Measure and value groundworks packages including foundations, drainage, and infrastructure * Prepare and agree interim valuations, variations, and final accounts * Monitor costs, forecasts, and cash flow to ensure financial control * Procure subcontractors and manage subcontract accounts * Liaise closely with site teams, clients, and suppliers to resolve commercial matters * Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation * Identify and implement value engineering opportunities
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks and/or civil engineering * Strong understanding of residential groundworks packages (roads, drainage, foundations, externals) * Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously * Good knowledge of contracts (JCT/NEC beneficial) * Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail * Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) * Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
