An established company within the demolition and specialist removal sector is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

This opportunity would suit a commercially astute professional with a strong technical background and a thorough understanding of compliance and health & safety legislation. Given the nature of the works, precision and regulatory awareness are critical, particularly when pricing safety-sensitive projects. Key Responsibilities Produce comprehensive and competitive cost estimates for demolition and/or specialist removal schemes
Analyse tender documentation including drawings, site surveys, asbestos reports, specifications and bills of quantities
Assess labour, plant, materials, subcontract packages and project sequencing
Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
Attend pre-tender site visits when required
Contribute to the preparation of tender programmes and supporting documentation
Complete pre-qualification questionnaires and relevant statutory submissions
Liaise with clients to confirm scope, constraints and technical queries
Assist with pre-contract discussions and review documentation prior to project commencement
Ensure all pricing submissions align with current legislation, regulatory standards and industry best practice
Provide detailed handover information to operational teams upon successful award
A strong focus on accuracy, compliance and structured documentation is essential. Essential Criteria Demonstrable experience estimating demolition and/or removal projects
Solid understanding of construction methodology and controlled demolition techniques
Working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance including: Health & Safety at Work legislation
Management of Health & Safety regulations
Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
Industry best practice guidance for demolition works
Familiarity with statutory notification processes (e.g. F10 submissions and other relevant notices)
Ability to interpret drawings, surveys and technical reports accurately
Competence in assessing project duration, resource allocation and cost planning
Understanding of construction contracts and commercial risk
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Project
Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience Asbestos awareness or non-licensed asbestos training (or higher certification)
Experience using estimating or commercial management software
Background within demolition, asbestos removal or specialist contracting environments
