Job Description:

The role as a Quantity Surveyor sits within a team responsible for the commercial management of major on‑site subcontracts, supporting the successful delivery of the T26 Global Combat Ship Major Programme of Works. The team works closely with project, engineering, and site stakeholders to ensure subcontract activities are effectively controlled, commercially compliant, and delivered in line with programme, cost, and contractual objectives.

Core Duties:

• Ensuring commercial aspects of sub-contract accounts are managed from procurement to interim and final account agreement in accordance with relevant contract terms and associated pricing option and /or best practice
• Providing the management team and Operations with advice and assistance on all matters relating to Contract Performance and Commercial issues
• Accountable for maximisation of the commercial benefit of all subcontracts
• Monitoring accurate Contractor progress on site, carrying out accurate site and quantity measurements, quantity and measurement reviews, and carrying out audits of delivered quantities
• Ensuring that Contractor payment valuations are accurately assessed, challenged appropriately, certified and paid on time, with clear strategies defined and outcomes communicated to all stakeholders including LfE
• Risk review, identification, mitigation and management

Essential Skills:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Quantity Surveying experience within a relevant sector in the Construction industry (major project experience preferable)
• Proven track record of administering NEC 3/4 contracts
• RICS qualified or working towards RICS qualification
