Job Description
McTaggart Construction is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team.
You’ll help keep our new projects in Central Scotland and the Borders on firm ground — supporting cost control, reviewing contracts, checking progress and offering clear, honest reporting. The role involves working closely with colleagues on site and in the office, building trusted relationships and making sure information is accurate and up to date.
Our work is rooted in community, consistency and doing things the right way. If you want to be part of supportive team that takes pride in delivering quality homes this could be the right place for you.
Main responsibilities
- Monitor project costs and support financial reports.
- Assist with valuations, budgets and forecasting.
- Work with Operations and Procurement to keep projects moving.
- Support the management of subcontractor packages.
- Join meetings when required to share updates and offer support.
- Help ensure contract and compliance requirements are met.
What you’ll bring
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor on medium‑sized jobs or several smaller projects.
- A relevant degree or suitable construction experience.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office.
- Clear communication skills and a steady, organised approach.
- Strong organisational skills and a practical approach to problem‑solving.
- A full UK driving licence.
