Quantity Surveyor

£500 p/d (Outside IR35)

Alecto Recruitment is proudly partnering with a global leader in the Waste to Energy sector. Together, we are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in M&E and Building Services to oversee the civil works across major projects.

  • £500 p/d (outside IR35)
  • 12-month contract (Starting ASAP)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee contract administration and procurement activities across M&E and building services packages
  • Track project expenditure and provide robust cost reporting, forecasting, and financial management
  • Lead negotiations with contractors and suppliers to secure optimal commercial outcomes and value for money
  • Assist in the preparation of final accounts and the resolution of contractual disputes and claims
  • Leverage BIM and 3D modelling tools to improve precision and productivity in quantity take-off exercises

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, or a closely related field
  • 5-10 years' hands-on experience in M&E and building services quantity surveying
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building services systems and installations
  • Proven experience working within the IChemE suite of contracts
  • Strong grasp of construction contract law and procurement strategies and methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities
  • Experience in the Power Generation sector is advantageous, as is a background in Chemicals, Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, or Water
