Quantity Surveyor - Substations - Perm/Contract

Volantes Renewables Recruitment are currently supporting a major utilities programme in Scotland and are looking to engage Quantity Surveyors with experience across utilities, civils, or infrastructure projects, with a focus on substation works.

This opportunity offers long-term project involvement, with both freelance and permanent roles available to suit individual preferences.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing commercial activities across live utilities projects, including:

Managing commercial duties on live utilities and substation projects

*

Preparing and submitting valuations, variations, and cost reports

*

Subcontractor procurement and management

*

Administration of NEC contracts

*

Working closely with project and site teams to ensure accurate cost control and forecasting

*

A mixed office and site-based role, with some flexibility for remote working

What We’re Looking For

*

Qualified Quantity Surveyor (HNC / HND / Degree level)

*

Previous experience within utilities, civils, or infrastructure environments

*

Strong working knowledge of NEC contract forms

*

Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively

*

Suitable for freelance contractors or candidates seeking a permanent position

*

Available for an immediate or short-notice start
