About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction team based in Newcastle upon Tyne. This role will involve working across a range of residential and commercial projects, supporting cost management, procurement, and financial control from pre-construction through to project completion.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who has experience managing costs on building projects and is looking to join a dynamic and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts
*
Carry out cost analysis and value engineering for residential and commercial developments
*
Prepare tender documentation and assist with contractor procurement
*
Evaluate subcontractor tenders and negotiate contracts
*
Manage interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
*
Monitor project costs and report regularly on financial performance
*
Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure projects remain within budget
*
Ensure compliance with contractual and commercial requirements
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
*
Experience working on residential and commercial construction projects
*
Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement, and contract administration
*
Familiarity with standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT)
*
Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
*
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
*
Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management ()
