Job Description
Quantity Surveyor\n\nLocation: Wolverhampton, West Midlands\n\nJob Type: Permanent, Full-Time Monday to Friday\n\nIndustry: Construction - New build housing\n\nSalary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum\n\nBenefits: Car allowance or company car, fuel allowance, private pension scheme, private healthcare, additional benefits\n\nA quality focused housing developer seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join the expanding commercial department based in the West Midlands. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organisation committed to delivering excellence in residential construction projects.\n\nJob Duties\n\nPrepare and manage cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation to ensure projects remain within financial targets.\nUndertake detailed cost planning and value engineering throughout all stages of construction projects.\nCarry out regular cost control and financial reporting, identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation strategies.\nReview and value interim applications, final accounts and variation orders in compliance with contract requirements.\nCollaborate with project managers, architects, contractors and suppliers to ensure clarity and accuracy in contractual and financial matters.\nMaintain accurate records of all project costs and provide timely updates to senior management.\nSupport procurement activities by analysing tenders and negotiating prices to secure value for money.\nEnsure compliance with relevant legislation, health and safety standards, and company policies.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nValid driving licence, enabling travel to various site locations within the West Midlands.\n\nEducation\n\nDegree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline is desired.\n\nExperience\n\nProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, preferably in residential or housing development projects.\nDemonstrable experience in cost management, tender analysis and contract administration.\nCOINS experience is desired\nExcellent IT skills including Microsoft packages\n\nKnowledge and Skills\n\nStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials and contractual principles.\nProficiency in preparing and interpreting cost plans, bills of quantities and tender documentation.\nExcellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.\nEffective communication and negotiation skills to liaise confidently with a range of stakeholders.\nCompetent user of relevant software including cost management and Microsoft Office applications.\nAbility to prioritise workload and manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nThis role primarily involves office-based work combined with regular site visits within the West Midlands region.\nThe role may involve travel between multiple project sites.\nIf you are interested in hearing more, call Chloe on (phone number removed)
