Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to come and join a busy client in the Manchester area. \n\nThe main duties of the experienced Quantity Surveyor are:\n\nManage all aspects of cost planning, estimation, and financial control for highways projects\nPrepare tender documentation, bills of quantities, and contract specifications\n Evaluate contractor tenders and provide recommendations for award\nAdminister contracts in line with NEC or similar frameworks\nMonitor project budgets, forecasts, and expenditure, ensuring value for money\nAssess and certify interim payments, variations, and final accounts\nProvide commercial advice to project managers and stakeholders\nIdentify and manage commercial risks and opportunities\nEnsure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures\nSupport continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives within the highways service\n\nThe suitable candidate will have experienced in: \n\nDegree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline\nProven experience in quantity surveying, ideally within highways or civil engineering projects\nStrong knowledge of contract management, particularly NEC contracts\nExcellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills\nAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines\nProficiency in relevant software and financial management systems\n\nFor a full description and further information on the role, please call Harriet Simmonds at Carrington West on (phone number removed). \n\nFOOTNOTE: \n\nIf you feel that you are right for this role technically, but the rate, location, or seniority does not suit you specifically then please still feel free to send us your CV.
