A well-established, multi-disciplinary construction contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join their growing commercial team. With a strong pipeline of secured work across Yorkshire, this is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects and play a key role in their successful delivery.
Operating across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, leisure, and industrial, the business delivers high-quality schemes typically valued between £5m - £20m.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be commercially responsible for one or multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with the wider project team, ensuring strong cost control, risk management, and commercial performance throughout.
This role offers a high level of autonomy, while still providing support from senior commercial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Managing all commercial aspects of projects from inception to completion
Preparing detailed cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation
Leading the procurement process, including subcontractor selection and negotiation
Preparing, submitting, and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts
Managing variations, change control, and contract administration
Producing accurate cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections
Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
Supporting junior members of the commercial team where requiredRequirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
Experience delivering projects within the £5m - £20m range
Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT)
Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related fieldWhat's on Offer
