Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) to support a civil infrastructure project in the North of Scotland (primarily Spittal and Inverness). The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience and a strong civil engineering background. While the project is within the transmission sector, candidates with core QS skills and NEC 3 experience ( but not essential) will be able to adapt quickly.
This role involves regular site attendance and close collaboration with project teams to ensure accurate cost control, measurement, and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
\n Preparation and management of cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation
Monitor and report on project costs, variations, and budgets
Assess subcontractor and supplier claims, variations, and invoices
Support contract administration and ensure compliance with NEC 3 or equivalent contract frameworks
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve cost-related issues
Attend site regularly to verify quantities, progress, and contractor performance

Requirements:
\n Site attendance 2–3 days per week
More than 3 years as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within civil engineering / infrastructure projects
Experience with NEC 3 contracts , but not essential
Strong understanding of measurement, cost management, and commercial processes
Based in or willing to relocate to the North of Scotland
