Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering Location:Bolton with travel to site and home flexibility A leading specialist civil engineering contractor is seeking an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. The business operates across major UK infrastructure schemes, delivering technically complex projects within the rail, concrete repairs, and wider civil engineering sectors. With strong investment and a high-performing commercial function already in place, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who wants to be part of a company on an upward growth trajectory. Exposure to unique, technically interesting engineering projects you wont find in typical civils roles. The Role: As Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of civil and rail projects across the UK. Youll work closely with project teams to ensure strong financial performance, accuracy in cost management, and compliance with contract frameworks. Key Responsibilities: Manage commercial and contractual elements of projects from tender to final account. Work under NEC or JCT forms of contract. Support the development and improvement of internal commercial processes. Prepare valuations, variations, cost forecasts, and financial reports. Assist with estimating duties where required. About You: Background in civil engineering , ideally with exposure to rail or geotechnical projects (ideal but not essential). Experience with NEC or JCT contracts. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence and improve processes. Positive, proactive, and collaborative approach. Experience in estimating or cost planning is advantageous.
