We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor working on repairs and maintenance contracts within the social housing sector. This role has a strong focus on the effective management and application of Schedule of Rates (SOR), ensuring accurate valuation, cost control, and value for money across maintenance works.
Duties include-
* Manage the commercial aspects of social housing repairs and maintenance contracts
* Administer and apply Schedule of Rates (SOR) for pricing, valuation, and cost control of works
* Review and validate works orders against SOR to ensure accuracy and compliance
* Prepare, monitor, and control budgets, forecasts, and cash flow
* Value completed works and arrange payments in line with contractual terms
* Assess subcontractor applications, variations, and final accounts
* Ensure compliance with relevant contracts and client requirements
* Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximising opportunities
* Produce accurate financial reports and cost/value reconciliations
* Work closely with operational teams to support efficient and cost-effective delivery
* Liaise with clients to resolve queries relating to SOR, variations, and valuations
Candidates should have the following skills and experience-
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing, particularly in repairs and maintenance
* Strong working knowledge and practical experience using Schedule of Rates (SOR)
* Experience working with NHF Schedule of Rates or similar frameworks (highly desirable)
* Understanding of various contract forms
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills
* Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and negotiation abilities
* Proficient in relevant software and Microsoft Office tools
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
