Groundworks Quantity Surveyor – Newton Abbot I am working with a family-run Groundworks & Plant Hire company, based in Newton Abbot and operating across the South West, who are looking to appoint a Groundworks Quantity Surveyor to join their friendly and supportive team. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation * Manage project costs from feasibility through to completion * Assess and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations * Strong understanding of contract administration * Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure cost efficiency * Prepare progress reports, valuations and final accounts * Support Project Managers to ensure commercial success * Manage tender enquiries * Maintain accurate databases of rates, suppliers and cost information Requirements: * Proven QS experience within groundworks/civils * Strong knowledge of cost control principle * Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills * Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and tools like Bluebeam * Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadline * Full UK driving licence Benefits: * Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 DOE * Company pension * Company car * Opportunity to join a close-knit, family-run business If you are interested in this role, please call Abbie or Cat at Sphere Solutions for a confidential chat on (phone number removed).
