We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our commercial team, working across a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential construction projects. This role combines full commercial management responsibilities with estimating duties at tender and pre-construction stages, supporting projects from initial cost planning through to final account.
Key Responsibilities – Quantity Surveying
*
Manage commercial aspects of multiple commercial and residential projects
*
Prepare budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts
*
Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including tender enquiries and analysis
*
Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, and payments
*
Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts
*
Manage variations, change control, and cost reporting
*
Provide accurate monthly cost value reconciliation (CVR) reports
*
Liaise with site teams, clients, consultants, and senior management
Key Responsibilities – Estimating
*
Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and residential tenders
*
Analyse drawings, specifications, and employer’s requirements
*
Carry out take-offs and pricing using supply chain and historical data
*
Prepare tender submissions, pricing documents, and value engineering proposals
*
Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings
*
Assist with handover from estimating to delivery teams
Requirements
*
Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
*
Proven experience working on both commercial and residential schemes
*
Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing
*
Ability to manage projects from tender stage through to final account
*
Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills
*
Proficient in Excel and estimating / commercial software
*
Excellent communication and organisational skills
*
Full UK driving licence
