Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks & Civils
Aberdeen
We are working with a well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor for their Aberdeen operation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality groundworks and civil engineering packages across the region.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the commercial management of groundworks and civil engineering projects from pre-contract through to final account.
Key responsibilities include:
Commercial management of groundworks and civils packages
Preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts
Valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and variations
Measurement and valuation of works on site
Identifying, pricing, and negotiating variations
Managing commercial risk and opportunity
Producing accurate cost and value reports
Working closely with site engineers and project managers
About You
We are keen to speak with Quantity Surveyors who have hands-on experience within groundworks and civil engineering projects.
You will ideally have:
A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor role within groundworks or civils
Strong knowledge of construction measurement and commercial processes
Experience with NEC and/or other standard forms of contract
Good understanding of earthworks, drainage, concrete, and infrastructure works
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a site-based team
