Quality Systems Manager

Location: Exeter | Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 DOE + Benefits | Hybrid working available

My client is an established independent food importer working with clients within the wholesale, catering, and retail markets. They are seeking an experienced Quality Systems Manager to join their small but thriving team.

The ideal candidate will have proficiency and working knowledge of retailer specifications and raw materials, along with excellent knowledge of quality systems, auditing, and customer liaison.

This role is office-based with the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days a week. However, it requires regular travel for supplier audits on the continent and developing strong working relationships (approximately 1-2 visits to Italy per month).

Responsibilities:

• Develop strong partnership relationships with key customers and suppliers
• Promote technical best practices within the business
• Conduct supplier audits
• Manage the QMS and HACCP functions
• Ensure compliance with retailer and raw material specifications

Requirements:

• Experience auditing suppliers
• Experience working with major retailer specifications
• BRC audit experience
• HACCP qualification
• Food hygiene training

Benefits:

• Salary up to £50,000 DOE
• Bonus up to 15%
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 5 years
