The Quality, Risk and Compliance Manager plays a key role in supporting HBSUK to maintain strong governance, regulatory compliance and high-quality standards across its services and operations. In this role, you will deliver the company’s quality, risk and compliance programme including internal audits, risk assessments, policy management and monitoring activities.
You will help ensure that processes meet regulatory, clinical and operational requirements while contributing to ongoing improvements that enhance consistency, safety and customer experience. Working closely with teams across the organisation, you will provide practical advice on compliance expectations, analyse quality and audit data, and support the development of effective processes, controls and corrective actions.
Success in this role requires excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement, strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to fostering a positive culture of quality, learning and continuous improvement.
You will be reporting to the Risk Director.

Essential Criteria;
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION AND TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in auditing, quality, risk or related fields.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in quality improvement and assurance, compliance, risk management or auditing within a regulated environment.
- ·Practical experience working with ISO standards.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Ability to analyse data, identify risks and propose practical solutions.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to explain complex requirements in simple terms.
- Good understanding of UK healthcare regulations and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to coordinate projects and influence stakeholders.
Desirable;
EXPERIENCE
- Additional qualifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, project management).
- Experience within a regulated healthcare or medical device environment.
- Knowledge of data protection and cybersecurity standards.
Within this position, you will mainly be;
Risk Management & Compliance
- Support the development and application of the organisation’s risk management framework, operational resilience and business continuity.
- Identify, assess and monitor risks affecting quality, compliance and operational performance.
- Provide guidance to teams on risk, compliance expectations and internal controls.
- Monitor evolving laws and regulations relevant to a regulated healthcare environment
- Work with teams to ensure regulatory requirements are incorporated into policies, processes and operational activities.
Audit & Monitoring
- Plan and deliver internal audits and gap analyses against regulations, policies, procedures and relevant ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001, 14001, 13485, 27001).
- Track compliance actions, monitor progress and escalate issues when required.
- Monitor the effectiveness of internal controls and assurance levels. And operational activities.
Policy & Document Control
- Maintain and update policies, Standard Operating Procedures and guidance to reflect regulatory and operational requirements.
- Coordinate the organisation’s document management process.
Reporting & Analysis
- Collect, analyse and report quality, audit and compliance data to support decision-making.
- Develop and monitor corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
Line management
- Line manage the Governance, Risk and Compliance Coordinator.
Training & Awareness
- Deliver training sessions to improve understanding of quality, compliance, and regulatory obligations.
Governance & Meetings
- Prepare reports, agendas and summaries for governance, risk and compliance meetings.
- Offer insights and recommendations based on audit outcomes and risk assessments.
Stakeholder Liaison
- Act as a point of contact for external auditors, regulators and internal teams.
Continuous improvement
- Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, consistency and customer satisfaction.
