Quality Manager Location: Buxton, Derbyshire Salary: From £45,000 – £50,000 per annum, DOE + Excellent Benefits! We are now recruiting for a Quality Manager to assume responsibility for leading the site Quality agenda, ensuring the full deployment of the quality strategy, systems and processes to ensure the delivery of class leading product quality performance. Leading a small team of Quality Assistants, you will work closely with Operations and the site Continuous Improvement Manager to ensure processes and activities have clear standards which are met rigorously and continue to be developed in line with best practice. You will help champion and deliver a quality improvement mindset, supporting CI activities across the whole site. In addition to this, as our Quality Manager you will be responsible for: * Managing the day to day activities of the Quality Team and coordinating activities. * Ensuring compliance with external and internal standards: BRC, ISO 9001, 14001 and A2 permit. * Managing and improving procedures, documentation & auditing of the quality management system. Working closely with operational and technical colleagues to ensure understanding. * Understanding the needs and expectations of customers regarding product quality. * Ensuring the internal audit schedule is kept fully updated and all recommendations and NCR’s are relayed back to the relevant business areas, actioned and closed off accordingly. * Ensuring the site is always at ‘Audit Ready’ status. * Effectively investigating and processing customer complaints, managing the process for any corrective and preventative action. * Developing and maintaining quality assurance metrics and reporting for both internal and external purposes including complaints, internal NCR’s, in-house rejects, customer returns and cost of all errors and waste. * Identifying training needs to meet quality requirements and deliver internal training where appropriate. * Representing the Quality Department within the Site Leadership Team, playing a full part in the delivery of the site strategy and budget. * Helping develop a culture of compliance, quality and continuous improvement across the site. * Managing all site health and safety procedures, ensuring site H&S standards are met. * Delivering site Quality induction to all new employees. * Continuously developing own knowledge on best practice, networking with colleagues at other sites and by keeping abreast of industry and legislative developments. * Leading and developing Quality team members, ensuring individuals have the appropriate level of support, 1:1’s and training to enable them to perform effectively. * Ensuring team members receive regular feedback and that all performance appraisals and development plans are up to date. In order to be successful in this role you should have / be: * Extensive experience of developing and managing quality systems and audit processes with previous experience of BRC, ISO & food safety standards * Previous experience in Print/packaging industry a distinct advantage * Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives * Previous experience of line managing or supervising teams * Fully qualified BSI Lead Auditor * Competent user of MS Office, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook * Experience of ERP systems, preferably EFI Radius and SAP Saica is an Equal Opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates, so if you feel you have what it takes to be successful in this role then please click “Apply” and submit your up to date CV and covering letter for consideration.
