The Company: Our client specialises in machining complex machined parts for the aerospace industry. They’re an established business in their field and work with market-leading names to assist them with the manufacturing of parts.
The Role:
You will be responsible for leading the quality function, ensuring compliance with industry standards (AS9100) and customer requirements whilst driving a culture of quality across the business. This senior level role reports directly into the MD. You will be an integral part of the business, contributing to decision making, operational excellence, and compliance. Responsibilities include:
* Lead the Quality function and set strategic direction
* Support business planning, strategy, and risk management
* Maintain and improve the QMS to meet AS9100 and regulatory standards
* Ensure compliance with aerospace and customer requirements
* Act as the main customer contact for quality matters
* Oversee key quality documentation (FAI, PPAP, control plans)
* Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement
* Manage supplier quality and development
* Track and report on quality KPIs and performance
* Lead and develop the Quality team
* Work cross-functionally to deliver right-first-time results
About you:
* Proven experience in a senior Quality role within aerospace or high-integrity engineering
* Strong knowledge of AS9100
* Skilled in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
* Confident communicator, able to engage customers, auditors, and internal teams
* Experience with managing and developing skilled technical staff
* Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing methods
* Auditor Certification AS9100/ISO9001 (Desirable)
* Relevant engineering or quality qualification (or equivalent experience)
The hours of work are Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4pm, and 7:30am – 12:30pm on Friday
