Quality Inspector

A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to ensure all products meet the correct requirements, specifications, and customer expectations. This role plays a key part in supporting internal departments, maintaining conformance to design data, and ensuring all completed products are released with accurate documentation.
This position requires strong inspection skills, a comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings, and experience with AS9102 FAIR processes.
Key Responsibilities General & Task Management Approve products against drawings and customer-supplied documentation

Provide support and guidance to internal teams regarding product conformance

Work independently or collaboratively to ensure efficient use of inspection resources

Accurately record non-conforming product to support Quality Assurance Engineers

Conduct internal departmental audits

Apply understanding of FAIR process to AS9102 requirements

Self-Management Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations, business policies and procedures

Maintain adherence to Quality and Environmental standards

Contribute positively to a collaborative and professional team environment

Key Performance Measures First pass yield / number of parts inspected

Compliance with AS9100 and AS9102

Delivery of agreed departmental KPIs

Knowledge, Education & Skills Essential Knowledge & Experience Proficient use of measuring tools (e.g., callipers, gauges, micrometers, rulers)

Strong ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings

Previous experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) processes

Experience reviewing customer drawings and supporting documentation

Proven experience conducting internal audits

Experience with regulatory document recording

Good working knowledge of Quality procedures

Understanding of FAIR processes to AS9102

Experience within a manufacturing environment

Time-served experience in a quality control role

Experience managing or leading a team

Desirable Working knowledge of aerospace quality systems

Competency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Skills & Competencies Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organisational and time management abilities

Ability to work collaboratively across business functions

High standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation

Competent computer literacy

Confident working with individuals and teams at all levels within the organisation

Other Requirements Occasional travel between sites may be required, including possible international travel
