JOB- Quality Engineer
LOCATION- Slough
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £42,000-£50,000 dependent on experience

My client is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Slough area. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding and passionate about Lean Manufacturing and will be mainly responsible for improving quality of the company's operational processes and output.

The Quality Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

2 years experience in Manufacturing Environment
APQP/PPAP experience beneficial
Self-motivated individual
Right first time approach
Ability to work calmly under pressure
The Quality Engineer role will involve:

Drive standardisation on processes along with waste elimination and continuous improvement
Support 8D activities on parts connected to internal or supplier quality concerns
Understanding of APQP and change point control management
Develop and maintain quality assurance throughout product development cycle for NPI
Responsible for control plans and QA associated to manufacturing processes which are outsourced
Collating material compliance data, report writing where necessary
Resolve customer issues in a timely manner
Champion problem solving with use of RCA tools such as 8D, 5WHY, ISHIKAWA, FMEA's
Handle internal & external audits
Monitor supplier performance, define process parameter to ensure process capability
Monitor output, quality & scrap rates. Improving OTD performance
Maintain records of products and approved suppliers
Identify, lead and participate in improvement project - member of the CI team
