A well-established UK-based manufacturer and distributor of high-reliability electronic components is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team in Powys, Wales. With a strong reputation for quality and reliability, this organisation supports customers across sectors where high performance and compliance are critical.
This is a hands-on, office-based role, ideal for a detail-focused individual with experience in certified quality environments. You’ll work across departments and with suppliers to uphold ISO and customer standards, carrying out checks, audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll be doing
*
Supporting and maintaining ISO 9001 and AS9120 certification requirements and procedures
*
Preparing for and carrying out customer and supplier audits
*
Performing quality checks on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods
*
Investigating and reporting non-conformances, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions
*
Maintaining and updating quality documentation, procedures, and records
*
Collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
*
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the business
*
Ensuring compliance with CECC/BS, ISO, and customer-specific requirements
What we’re looking for
*
Previous experience in a quality assurance or engineering role ideally within electronics, manufacturing, or another regulated industry
*
Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9120 or similar quality management systems
*
Skilled with inspection tools, processes, and quality documentation
*
Strong written and verbal communication skills
*
Methodical, organised, and detail-focused approach
*
Familiarity with CECC, BS, or UK defence standards (advantageous)
What’s on offer

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000
*
Performance-related bonus (PRP) linked to company performance
*
20 days holiday, rising to 25 after 5 years’ service
*
37.5 hours per week with flex-time – build up extra hours and take them when it suits you
*
BUPA healthcare – company funded after 1 year; spouse also covered after 5 years
*
Pension scheme – company-paid at 8% after 3 months, rising 1% each year of service (salary sacrifice option available)
