Job Description
Quality Assurance Engineer\nLocation: Birmingham\nSalary: Up to £45,000 (depending on experience)\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in metal machining environments and a solid background in quality control systems, inspection, and continuous improvement.\nThis role plays a key part in ensuring that products meet the highest standards of precision, durability, and finish.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduct Inspection & Testing\n * \n Inspect machined components for defects and ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.\n * \n Perform testing and validation against defined quality standards.\nProcess Monitoring\n * \n Monitor production processes using established SOPs.\n * \n Identify deviations and implement corrective actions promptly.\nQuality Documentation\n * \n Develop, update, and maintain quality documentation including:\n * \n Inspection procedures\n * \n Test plans\n * \n Quality control guidelines\n * \n Process documentation\nRoot Cause Analysis\n * \n Investigate product defects using structured problem-solving methods.\n * \n Develop and implement corrective and preventative action plans (CAPA).\nCross-Functional Collaboration\n * \n Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve quality issues.\n * \n Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.\nTraining & Support\n * \n Train and mentor team members on quality assurance processes and standards.\n * \n Promote a culture of quality throughout the organisation.\nMandatory Requirements\n * \n Proficiency in CAD software.\n * \n Strong knowledge of metals, machining processes, and tooling.\n * \n Good understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).\n * \n Knowledge of drawing control and engineering change management.\n * \n Experience producing technical documentation for manufacturing teams.\nDesirable (Not Essential)\n * \n Experience with Autodesk Vault.\n * \n Knowledge of SAP and document control systems (e.g., Vault).\n * \n Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.\n * \n Hands-on experience within shop floor machining environments.\n * \n Experience within hardware manufacturing.\nHours\n * 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 12.30pm Friday.\nThis a permanent position that starts immediately
