Salary: £41,935 – £56,154 per annum (M3–U3)
Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to U3.

Teach Now is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a PSHE & RSE Lead Teacher (SEN) to join a highly supportive special academy in Barnet, working with students aged 11–19 with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.

This is a rewarding leadership role where you’ll shape a curriculum that truly impacts students’ wellbeing, independence, and future lives. You will lead the delivery and development of PSHE and Relationships & Sex Education across Key Stages 3–5, ensuring content is accessible, inclusive, and tailored to meet a wide range of SEND needs.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and develop a high-quality PSHE & RSE curriculum across KS3–KS5
• Deliver engaging, accessible lessons covering topics such as relationships, consent, online safety, and emotional wellbeing
• Adapt teaching to meet diverse communication, sensory, and learning needs
• Work closely with safeguarding leads to ensure best practice in protective education
• Embed whole-school wellbeing strategies and inclusive practices
• Coach and mentor staff, sharing expertise and high-quality resources
• Build strong partnerships with families and external agencies

What We’re Looking For
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Experienced teacher (M3–U3)
• Experience within SEND or specialist settings - essential
• Strong understanding of PSHE and RSE curriculum requirements
• Knowledge of working with students with autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs
• Ability to deliver sensitive content in a supportive, accessible way
• Experience with person-centred approaches and strategies such as sensory support and communication scaffolding
• A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach with strong leadership potential
