Solicitor – Residential Litigation / Leasehold DisputesLocation: Birmingham (Hybrid Working)Experience: 3+ PQEWorking Pattern: Flexible working consideredA growing specialist property law practice is seeking a Solicitor (3+ PQE) to join its Residential Litigation / Leasehold Disputes team in Birmingham.The firm operates nationally within the property sector, advising freeholders, managing agents, property managers and leaseholders on complex leasehold and residential disputes. With a consistently increasing volume of instructions, the team is expanding and looking for a solicitor who enjoys technically detailed property litigation and tribunal work.This is a strong opportunity to join a specialist practice with a focused client base and an expanding disputes team, offering a varied and interesting caseload within a niche area of property law.The RoleYou will manage a broad range of leasehold and residential litigation matters, including both court and tribunal work.Key responsibilities include:Debt recovery matters across small claims, fast track and multi-track proceedingsBreach of lease claims in the County Court and tribunal forumsForfeiture and possession proceedingsLease extension and lease variation mattersPreparing and managing First-tier Tribunal applicationsDetailed lease analysis and interpretationEnforcement of judgments and recovery strategiesAppointment of manager applicationsYou will also advise clients on a range of leasehold management and compliance issues, including:Major works consultation proceduresSection 20B noticesLease variations and structural issues within leasesRepair obligations and related statutory noticesThe role will also involve supporting the pre-litigation team with technical queries, as well as mentoring and assisting in the development of trainees and junior colleagues within the team.The Ideal CandidateQualified Solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE in property litigation or leasehold disputesStrong working knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and enforcement proceduresExperience dealing with long leasehold landlord and tenant legislationConfident handling tribunal and court processesStrong organisation skills with the ability to manage deadlines and competing prioritiesExcellent client communication skills and attention to detailDesirable experience includes:Knowledge of Right to Manage (RTM) structures and processesFamiliarity with Companies Act 2006 provisions relevant to property management structuresAwareness of key case law within leasehold reform and landlord & tenant legislationThe OpportunityThis is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist and growing team within a niche area of property disputes.
