Job description
We are currently seeking a Service Support Engineer to join a leading cable manufacturing company in the Newcastle area. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting internal operations by preparing detailed work instructions, technical documentation, and operational procedures. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in cable manufacturing processes and a strong ability to translate technical knowledge into clear, structured documents.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, write, and maintain technical documentation , work instructions , and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cable manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to gather and verify technical content.
Support the implementation of procedural improvements and internal best practices.
Assist with troubleshooting operational issues and providing technical support to production teams.
Participate in audits and quality assurance reviews to ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
Maintain documentation in line with internal standards and industry regulations.
Track and report on the progress of document control activities.
Requirements:
Proven experience working in a cable manufacturing environment (HV/FO or similar).
Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
Familiarity with manufacturing procedures, cable routing, assembly, and testing processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and engineering specifications.
Proficient in MS Office and relevant document management systems.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Engineering or technical background (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering).
