The Opportunity
Continued growth within this established professional practice has created an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager / Employer’s Agent to deliver a wide range of residential and mixed-use schemes. Based in Chelmsford, you’ll join a friendly, supportive team working with private and public sector clients on projects from early feasibility through to completion.
The Role
You’ll manage projects day-to-day, acting as Employer’s Agent on Design & Build contracts, and taking responsibility for co-ordination, contract administration, programme management, risk management, and liaison with clients and consultants. You’ll also help grow the practice’s presence locally, support junior staff with mentoring, and contribute to business development through networking and bids.
Key Responsibilities
* Take projects from initial brief through to handover
* Coordinate design and procurement stages
* Prepare Employer’s Requirements and tender documentation
* Manage planning applications, site investigations and surveys
* Administer contracts and chair project meetings
* Carry out regular site inspections and progress monitoring
* Provide regular financial and progress reports to clients
* Support the wider team with technical advice and mentoring
* Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors
* Represent the company at networking events and support bid submissions
About You
* Relevant degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or Project Management
* MRICS / MAPM / MCIOB qualified or working towards chartership
* Proven experience delivering Design & Build projects as Employer’s Agent
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
* Full UK driving licence
* Experience in residential / mixed-use sectors
