Contract Project Manager – Technology & Transformation
- Hybrid – with travel to offices in either Bristol, Derbyshire, and Staffordshire
- 6-month contract
- Outside IR35
A private equity backed business is hiring for an experienced contract Project Manager to bring delivery discipline, coaching, and pace to a series of well-scoped but under-resourced projects. These are in-flight and form part of a wider continuous improvement and integration programme. The business is growing rapidly and needs an experienced PM who can bring structure, clarity, and momentum to critical transformation initiatives.
Objectives
- Establish and embed scalable project governance and delivery discipline across multiple workstreams.
- Support disparate stakeholder groups with rigour, coaching, and communication.
- Ensure successful execution of key projects – particularly around system integration, and operational improvement.
What You’ll Be Walking Into
- Projects are scoped but lack consistent project management resource and governance.
- Multiple internal teams and external vendors involved (e.g. telephony, front-end tech).
- The organisation has a legacy franchise model and limited integration maturity.
- Growth is accelerating – both physically and digitally – creating a need for stronger cross-functional delivery capability.
What You’ll Do
- Act as a hands-on PM with the presence and credibility to influence senior stakeholders.
- Driving scope definition, unblocking delivery, and making things move.
- Build delivery frameworks and artefacts that can scale beyond your contract.
- Coach internal teams and act as a catalyst for improved collaboration and pace.
- Navigate technical complexity and challenge thinking where needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven ability to deliver in low-maturity or fast-scaling environments.
- Strong governance and artefact creation – show your playbook and the impact it’s had.
- Gravitas and presence – you will be seen and heard by senior leadership.
- Immediate impact – you know how to find the pressure points and move the needle.
- Previous Private Equity experience
Expected Outcomes After 6 Months
- A visible, scalable project governance model in place.
- Consistent reporting cadence and usage of delivery artefacts.
- Successful execution of in-flight projects.
- Clear track record of delivery and improved communication flow across the business.

- 6-month initial term
- Hybrid working: onsite presence required as above
- Outside IR35
- Day rate circa £550 per day
- Location:
- East Midlands, England, United Kingdom
- Salary:
- £60,000 - £80,000
