Job Description
Vertical Recruitment is working with a leading global, multi-disciplinary consultancy and engineering services organisation to recruit a Project Manager for the major AMP8 water framework with United Utilities.\n\nOur client operates at the forefront of water, sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy, delivering innovative and practical solutions to complex challenges. With a strong commitment to equality, and , they foster a collaborative and supportive working environment where people are empowered to succeed.\n\nFollowing continued success in securing long-term AMP8 frameworks and capital delivery programmes within the water sector, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join the team. This role will play a key part in the successful delivery of projects across the United Utilities portfolio, working under NEC forms of contract.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives are met.
You will act as the key interface between internal teams, clients and external stakeholders, driving performance and maintaining strong working relationships throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nEnsure all internal governance, quality and assurance processes are adhered to\n\nManage project delivery in line with NEC contracts, ensuring compliance and best practice\n\nControl and report on external project finances, including forecasting, cost control and change management\n\nMaintain strong internal financial discipline, including invoicing and financial reporting\n\nDevelop and manage project programmes, coordinating resources effectively\n\nIdentify, manage and mitigate project risks and opportunities\n\nLead client liaison and stakeholder engagement activities\n\nManage, motivate and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams\n\nChair project progress meetings and ensure clear actions and outcomes are delivered\n\nUndertake regular project reviews and performance reporting\n\nManage project change control and commercial variations\n\nDevelop and strengthen client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat work\n\nSupport senior leadership in achieving wider business objectives\n\nContribute to business development activities, including bid preparation and tender submissions\n\nAbout You\n\nProven experience delivering projects within the UK water sector\n\nStrong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract\n\nDemonstrable experience managing project finances, programmes and risk\n\nExcellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills\n\nConfident leader with experience managing project teams\n\nHighly organised, commercially aware and solutions-focused\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary package\n\nFlexible pension allowance\n\nPrivate medical insurance\n\nFlexible and hybrid working arrangements\n\n25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
