Project Manager – Major Construction & Engineering Projects Location: UK-wide projects (regional offices across the Midlands, London, North West & East Anglia) Employment Type: Permanent Sector: Construction / Civil Engineering / Infrastructure About the Role A leading UK construction and engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide end‑to‑end leadership across major work packages and complex construction projects. You will take full responsibility for project delivery — including Safety, Commercial, Programme, People, and Quality — ensuring all works are executed to the highest technical, contractual, and compliance standards. This role requires a strong construction leader who can drive performance, uphold a zero‑tolerance approach to unsafe practices, and ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to specification. Key Responsibilities • Act as the primary company representative across all project interfaces • Serve as the main point of contact for the client, ensuring clear communication and expectation alignment • Establish, lead, and motivate the project team, ensuring behaviours and performance align with company values • Develop and manage the construction programme, ensuring delivery to cost, time, quality, and contractual requirements • Ensure project scope, requirements, and documentation are fully understood and communicated • Oversee production controls, progress reporting, and performance improvement initiatives • Implement Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems • Lead the creation and approval of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Construction Phase Plans, and Quality Plans • Promote a culture of zero tolerance for unsafe practices and ensure statutory training compliance • Ensure adherence to IMS, QMS, environmental procedures, incident reporting, and occupational health standards • Plan and manage labour, plant, and material requirements in collaboration with internal teams • Coordinate temporary works, subcontractors, suppliers, and design partners to meet programme and quality expectations • Raise requisitions for resources and subcontract packages in line with programme needs • Deliver projects within authorised budgets while optimising cost and quality • Monitor scope against contract requirements and raise variations promptly • Support tender submissions and attend tender handover meetings when required • Attend internal and client progress meetings, H&S meetings, and coordination sessions • Ensure timely submission of project documentation and client deliverables • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on performance, risks, and project issues What We’re Looking For • Proven experience delivering complex construction or civil engineering projects • Strong leadership capability with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams • Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, safety management, and quality systems • Confident communicator able to represent the business professionally at all levels • Ability to manage budgets, programmes, subcontractors, and client relationships effectively • A proactive, accountable, and safety‑driven approach to project delivery Why Join This Business? • Projects delivered across the UK with opportunities for progression and long‑term career development • Employee‑owned structure where every team member has a personal stake in the company’s success • A culture built on Responsibility, Integrity, Teamwork, and Excellence • Opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most challenging and rewarding engineering and construction projects INDP
