Job Description
Are you an experienced freelance Project or Contracts Manager capable of delivering a complex £1.2m hospitality project with tight coordination between multiple stakeholders?
TAG Catering Equipment is a leading provider of commercial kitchen and bar fit-outs for the UK’s premium hospitality sector. We have been awarded the installation of a prestigious restaurant commercial kitchen at a landmark venue in Whitehall, and require a freelance Project Manager to deliver the project.
Whilst experience in commercial kitchens is advantageous, it’s not essential. Your skillset in complex coordination of multiple stakeholders and trades in construction or fit-out projects is what is needed!
With TAG working as a subcontractor, the project includes the delivery of 2 kitchens, 1 bar with 3 front-of-house wine displays over two floors in Central London. Our scope includes:
All catering equipment including the main cookline, prime cooking, refrigeration, and warewashing
Bespoke stainless steel fabrication
Remote refrigeration pack systems
Extraction including ventilated ceilings and canopies
Final connections to a vacuum drainage system and M&E being installed by other contractors.
The project programme is from late-January until May 2026, so we are looking for someone who can start immediately.
For this project you will be communicating with various stakeholders and coordinating with multiple trades to ensure the successfully delivery of the project, whilst maintaining cost control including Variations.
This is your chance to deliver one of London’s most prestigious restaurant projects of 2026. Although this is a Contract role, there may be potential for this to progress into a more permanent role at a company with a reputation for delivering some of the UK’s most desirable and efficient commercial kitchens, for some of the UK’s most famous venues and hospitality groups!
Key responsibilities:
Lead Project Delivery: Take ownership of the full delivery of TAG’s scope, including kitchens, bar, and wine displays, ensuring all elements are installed to specification and on schedule.
Coordinate Multiple Stakeholders: Act as the main point of contact between clients, design teams, subcontractors, and TAG’s suppliers to maintain seamless communication and resolve issues quickly.
Manage Site Activities and Interfaces: Oversee on-site progress, ensuring integration with other contractors for M&E, drainage, and related services while maintaining a safe working environment.
Control Costs and Variations: Monitor budgets, manage variations, and maintain accurate financial records to ensure the project remains commercially viable.
Ensure Quality and Compliance: Uphold TAG’s standards for workmanship, safety, and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
The fit:
You ideally have experience in hospitality fit-out or wider commercial fit-out and construction sectors.
You will have previous experience as a Project Manager, with associated qualifications.
This is a customer-facing role, therefore as an ambassador of the company, you will need to be presentable and act in a professional manner.
You will enjoy working as part of a team, whilst being able to work autonomously to deliver the project on time and within budget.
You will have a good technical knowledge of drawings and quotations, and be able to use these in communication with others on the project.
Be able to regularly liaise with clients, their design and sub-contractor teams, our own suppliers, manufacturers, sub-contractors, and installation teams.
This is a time sensitive project, therefore time management and organisational skills are essential.
Benefits:
Support from an award-winning marketing, design, and sales team to focus on the delivery of the project
Excellent day rate plus expenses.
Company issued laptop.
Hybrid and flexible working, with the majority of time on-site in London or our offices in Stevenage.
Wellbeing Employee Assistance Programme
Regular team lunches and events
The opportunity to dine for free at our project sites including fine-dining restaurants and 5* hotels
