Job Title: Project Manager: Construction

Location: Portsmouth, Filton, Cowes or Frimley. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Circa £52,000 per annum

What you’ll be doing:

Leading the planning and implementation of small to medium scale projects

Facilitating the definition of project scope, objectives and deliverables ensuring technical feasibility

Monitoring and reporting of project performance for schedule, technical, financial and quality objectives

Communicating well with key stakeholders, the project team and third parties

Responsibility for the compliance with the Construction (Design & Management ) Regulations and good H&S practices more generally

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

Demonstrable track record of successful project management of varied construction projects

Experience in the facilities, building services or construction related industries

Knowledge and practical application of project management tools and techniques

Ability to manage budgets and interpret financial information

Knowledge and experience of commercial contracts (NEC and JCT) and different procurement strategies, including NEC and JCT contracts experience

Ability to apply good project governance and understanding of BAE’s Lifecycle Management (LCM) as linked to the RIBA Plan of Work

People management experience, particularly managing a project team for effective project delivery

Desirable:

It would be advantageous to hold, or be working towards a formal project management qualification (RICS, APM, PMI, IPMA, PRINCE2 or similar)

SHE qualification desirable e.g. IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH Construction Certificate or similar

The Real Estate and Infrastructure team:

As Project Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of number of assigned projects to meet customer and business requirements. Typically, these projects will be related to facilities and building services including maintenance, repair, refurbishment or construction projects across the UK. This is an opportunity to work within a multi-disciplined team, drawing on the expertise of all capabilities from SHE , Commercial, and Legal to IT and Building, MEP / Civil Engineering. Working with internal Clients provides an opportunity to embed yourself as a respected operator, fostering positive working relationships and remaining present to experience the transition to ‘In-use’ phase with critical success factors realised.
