Rate: up to £350 a day
About the Project:
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a new build scheme in Cambridge, comprising multipleshell starter units — similar in nature to small retail park or warehouse developments. This is a years contract with full responsibility for overseeing the project from mobilisation through to handover.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take overall responsibility for planning, execution, and delivery of the project.
* Lead and coordinate the project team, including site staff, subcontractors, consultants, and client-side stakeholders.
* Monitor programme performance, budgets, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure all works are delivered in compliance with health & safety regulations and CDM requirements.
* Report regularly to senior management and the client on project progress, risks, and key milestones.
* Manage procurement, variations, and contractual obligations as required.
Requirements:
* Proven track record in delivering commercial or industrial new builds (ideally shell unit schemes).
* Strong understanding of construction programmes, cost control, and risk management.
* SMSTS, CSCS (Manager level), and First Aid qualifications (essential).
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders efficiently.
Desirable:
* Previous experience delivering similar projects in the Cambridge area.
* Familiarity with NEC/JCT contracts.
