Job Description
There’s a permanent opportunity for a Project Construction Supervisor to join our projects team on our Houses of Parliament contract in Westminster, London
Dalkia provide mechanical and electrical (M&E) maintenance services as well as a variety of small and medium project works for the Parliamentary Estate (approximately 17 sites) based in the Westminster area.
The project team generally deliver low and medium sized projects (£50k to £500k) for both the PMST and Strategic Estates (SE) teams. Implementation is primarily through a measured term contract utilising the PSA schedule of Rates for PMST and NEC3 for SE.
A Project Construction Manager overseeing all the logistics of a construction project with good administration, H&S, project, and commercial awareness is required to support the project team at key stages of project delivery and conduct site visits and report to senior managers on project progress.
The Role
Manage the construction site on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control to ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress
Plan and coordinate a project from start to finish, including organising the schedule of work, costings and budget. Ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within contract timescales
Overseeing the logistical requirements of a project
Communicate with any consultants, subcontractors, planners, quantity surveyors and others involved in the project
Meeting regularly with clients, third parties and other managers to report on progress & health & safety matters
Promote and maintain health and safety by conducting site visits to inspect work, check materials and ensure staff are following CDM and health and safety guidelines
Participation in incident management
Dealing with contracts and mitigating the impact of any issues
Deal with any unexpected problems that may occur during the project.
Ensuring building work adheres to industry regulations
Assist with basic project delivery and Tendering
Detailed Project Reporting - Weekly / Monthly Project Reports
Typing and general correspondence including preparation of reports/specifications
Compilation &/or Review of RAM's
Undertake co-ordination of ad hoc project work and events
Networking to develop new business
Attend training sessions as required by the Company, or deemed a requirement through assessment or legislation
Supporting Account Director, Head of Projects, QS and other key members of the team in delivering the works to the satisfaction of Parliament
Build and maintain effective working relationships with project teams and colleagues to maximise success of project delivery for Parliament
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 8.00am-5.00pm

Qualifications and Experience Required
Essential:
SMSTS
Hold a CSCS
Experience of RAMS Review & Approval
Good IT Skills
Previous Project & Construction Experience
Desirable:
General Mechanical or Electrical background / qualification
5-6 years of industry experience
