Sellick Partnership is partnering with a Local Authority to recruit a Programme Lead - Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) on an interim basis.
The Responsibilities of the Programme Lead will be:
- Leading the development and delivery of the council's full LGR proposal for submission to Government in November 2025.
- Acting as the key contact for the SRO and LGR Programme Board, overseeing all programme activity.
- Managing the programme timeline, governance, risk register, and stakeholder engagement.
- Building strong working relationships with Elected Members, senior officers, and neighbouring councils.
- Leading cross-functional teams and managing external advisers to ensure the proposal meets Government criteria.
- Managing the programme budget and ensuring statutory compliance throughout.
The Ideal candidate for the Programme Lead role will have:
- Senior-level programme leadership experience within a local authority or similar public sector organisation.
- In-depth understanding of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) or similar large-scale public sector transformation.
- Political awareness and experience engaging with Members, Government, and senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead complex change across multiple organisations or directorates.
- Strong strategic thinking, programme management, and report writing skills.
- A credible and resilient leadership style with a strong commitment to public service outcomes.
